Great Board Games for Family Night In!

I was in Target the other day in the game section and remembered all of the games I used to play when I was a child. This reemphasises the fact that families need to have a time when they can get together for "family time". In my opinion this is not just meal times! So many of us get bogged down with extracurricular activities, or just sit down and engross ourselves in television. I think if a family sets aside a time for the family to get together for "game night" or any other planned activity as a family unit, it can grow your family bond so much more! Gives each of you something to look forward to!

There are so many great games out there like Clue (they even have Clue, Jr), Scrabble and Scrabble for kids, Monopoly, Chutes and Ladders, Don't Spill the Beans just to name a few! What a great world we live in that we can show our kids and play with the games we used to play and share special moments!!

  1. So true, Jen. It can get a little old playing the same ol' game over & over (i.e. Candyland), but I know that just like reading the same book over & over, this is a real learning opp for the kids. My kids love to play Go Fish and memory games. (The memory game is a challenge for me, too!) Puzzles are another item that we love to do together and I love seeing how quickly they can put them together.

Did you have a happy childhood?

Is your child a picky eater?
